Glasgow, Scotland

I have arrived, safe and sound in Glasgow, Scotland.

There really isn't much to report, as there really isn't very much to do. Today is a catching up day, and a stop over day on the tour. Tomorrow we head off for the Isle of Skye for some major hiking, and hopefully, to find Nessie.

I did have my first experience washing clothes in my hotel sink today. That was fun...

I'm having some trouble adjusting to the exchange rate over here in the UK. 2.2 American dollars to the pound! That's pretty intense! I'm beginning to rethink the whole eating thing in lieu of more exciting things to spend my money on :). Just kidding.

So, that's all for now. I'll post more when there is more!

A good trick for the exchange rate is create a cheat sheet with the equivalent of 1-10 and 20-50 (by 10's)This way you can do a quick calculation. If something is 23 pounds, you can add the 20 figure to the 3 and get the cost in US dollars.

Do the same for a smaller denomination so you always know what you are spending.

Continue to have fun!

I had a moment this morning and here are the calculations. I only went to 50 pounds for fear your parents would disown you if you spend more than that. Also, the dollar is weaker than you mentioned. Closer to 2 pounds from all sites I found.

1 = 1.97 US
2 = 3.93
3 = 5.90
4 = 7.86
5 = 9.84
6 = 11.80
7 = 13.76
8 = 15.73
9 = 17.70
10 = 19.67
20 = 39.34
30 = 59.01
40 = 78.68
50 = 98.35
